Move came at right time for Camels
Campbell County head coach Troy Styer took some heat when he made a quarterback change a few weeks back, but after managing just seven points total in two key district losses to Boone County and Ryle in early September the Camels' offense needed a lift.
Styer moved Nathan Kidwell back to outside linebacker and handed the keys of the offense over to sophomore Andrew Eshman. The change has breathed much-needed life into both the offense and defense. In their past four contensts, they scored put 104 points on the board and have allowed just 28. Eshman completed 48 of 84 passes for 703 yards and six touchdowns since taking over under center.
Campbell County picked up a big win last week over Simon Kenton and Ryle, who lost earlier in the year to Simon Kenton but beat Campbell County, fell at home to the first place Boone County Rebels. It set up a three-way tie in Class 6A/District 6 for second place.
Ryle currently leads the tie-breaker standings with 18 points. Campbell County and Simon Kenton each have 11 points. But the Camels could reduce that margin with a win in Friday's game against Newport Central Catholic at Newport Stadium, according to the KY Post.
