Crazy Week for NKY Teams
We are now in week 6 of football in Northern Kentucky. This might be the craziest week we have seen in years. Mother Nature really hit hard on Friday night, casing almost every game played to be postponed. The Conner vs. Campbell County game had been pushed back to Sunday, the only game, to my knowledge, that has been pushed back so far. All the other games are to take place on Saturday, Sept. 23. From what I have heard, the game must begin rigth where the teams left playing. That includes the Cougar-Camel game, where the game was young, only 1 minute and thirty seconds into the 1st quarter. The Camels began with the ball on offense. They played a total of three plays and had gained a first down. After that third play, there was an illegal motion penalty, and then a huge bolt of lightning streaked across the sky. That was pretty much it, as both teams sat indoors to wait. I believe the official call was made about an hour and a half after the first bolt. Definately a crazy night for all involved. What makes it even more rough was the fact that it was the Camel's Homecoming Night, in which many fans turned out. Hopefully all fans will return to cheer on their respective teams Sunday at 2 p.m.
