By TSF Staff | TRISTATEFOOTBALL.COM

Terry Liggin is out after two seasons as the head football coach at Holmes.

For the second time in less than three years the Holmes Bulldogs have hired a new football coach. Longtime assistant coach Ben Nevels has spent the last nine years with Holmes and Lloyd and now gets his opportunity to be a head coach as the school announced his hiring on Monday.

Nevels, a Simon Kenton graduate, played football at Campbellsville and Eastern Kentucky. He currently is a special education teaches at Holmes.

“I am blessed to have this opportunity,” Nevels said in a statement released by the school. “I am extremely excited about our future."

Nevels replaces Terry Liggin, who resigned earlier in the year. During Liggin’s two-year reign the Bulldogs finished with a 10-12 mark, including a 6-5 record a year ago.
