National Signing Day came and went on Wednesday with over 200 players from the TSF coverage area announcing and making official their college decisions.
The Greater Western Ohio Conference always offers up its fair share of talent and players read for the next level. The Class of 2013 proved to be no different.
Springboro went 5-0 inside the conference and 10-1 overall during an impressive 2012 campaign. The success the Panthers turned out on the field led to plenty of opportunities for the team’s senior cogs. Three-star offensive tackle and First-Team All-TSF member Sean Welsh (6’3/275) made the decision he made last summer to commit to Iowa official by signing his LOI on Wednesday. Five other of his classmates also made their decisions clear:
RB/DB Kyle Longworth, Springboro – Indiana (preferred walk on)
WR Jake Johnson, Springboro – 5-11/175 – Ohio (preferred walk on)
PK Josh Depp, Springboro – 5’11/170 – Georgetown College
LB Jordan Nicoll, Springboro – 5’11/120 – Georgetown College
RB/LB Rahman Hardin, Springboro – 5-10/205 – Saginaw Valley State
One of Southwest Ohio’s top passing duos, Lebanon’s Luke Morgan (6’2/215) and Austin Wolf (6’4/205) will be staying in the Buckeye State. Morgan will be a preferred walk-on at Ohio State for Urban Meyer. Wolf, who had originally been targeted as PWO at Cincinnati, settled in on a full ride at Ohio over the closing weeks of the signing period. Their teammate, Anthony Wene (6’0/175) is heading to Otterbein.
Fairborn tackle Carson Baker (6’5/315) signed with Pittsburgh. Xenia WR/DB Tyler Lee (6’2/185) is on his way to Indiana State and Miamisburg offensive lineman Justin Adamson (6’2/265) has committed to Notre Dame College.
There are plenty more players that have also made their decisions more likely to come. Stay tuned to TriStateFootball.com for all the latest news and follow us on Twitter @TSFootball for year-round updates.
