Kentucky Team of the Year: Highlands

The Highlands Bluebirds were named as our NKY Team of the Year for the fifth time in six years.




Once again the sweet songs of success were found coming from the hill as the Highlands Bluebirds were named as TriStateFootball.com’s Kentucky Team of the Year Monday night at Quaker Steak & Lube in Florence, Kentucky. The boys from Fort Thomas went 14-1 and set Kentucky state records with their sixth consecutive title and 22nd overall (tied with Trinity).

Highlands has been incredibly dominating during their current run. This group of seniors finished 43-2 the past three seasons. They are 87-3 during their six-year reign as one of Kentucky’s upper echelon programs.

Head coach Dale Mueller is 202 games above .500 at 236-34 in 18 season at Highlands. His has been at the helm for 11 of the program’s state championships. Mueller is 310-65 overall in 28 years.
