Waynesville (1-0) continued their mastery over East Clinton (0-1) as they have won the last five in the series by a combined score of 180-56. It started of shaky for the Spartans as the Astros Matt Blackburn returned a Luke Creditt pass seven yards for a touchdown. That gave East Clinton a 7-3 early first quarter lead.

Creditt would then meticulously go to work dissecting the Astros with his arms and his legs for 38 unanswered points. The senior would end the night with 132 yards rushing, 128 passing, two rushing touchdowns and one more passing. Fullback Matt Lindsey found the end zone twice on short runs for the Spartans. Senior and Preseason First Team All-TriStateFootball.com kicker Caleb Keeton connected on field goals of 37 and 32 yards for the victors.

East Clinton had some success running the ball gaining 194 yards on the night. Austin Miller had 82 yards on the ground and sophomore quarterback Dalton Floyd picked up another 70.

Waynesville gets another Clinton County test as they host Clinton-Massie (1-0) Friday night. The Astros look to rebound on the road at Adena.
