The Greater Western Ohio Conference has announced that all games hosted by GWOC teams will move from a traditional 7:30 PM start time to a 7:00 start time.
The move factored in many decisions, including the expanded passing game and better facilitating the media outlets which provide coverage of the games.
“We want to make sure that our membership is represented in the local papers and the beat writers get to adequately cover our games and get a good story in the paper,” GWOC commissioner Eric Sparh told the Dayton Daily News.
It will be interesting to see what if any impact the move will have on the field. While many teams in both Northern Kentucky and Indiana already play games at 7:00 PM, the only conference in Ohio coverage areas to adopt that time currently is the Miami Valley Conference.
