Berta Calls on Father

A month after taking over the Clark Montessori program, head coach Joe Berta has hired his father Bob, a longtime coaching legend, as his defensive coordinator, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

The elder Berta got the Turpin football program off the ground and served as the school’s head coach for 27 years. He has spent the last six seasons as the defensive coordinator at McNicholas.

“We should make a dynamic father-son team,” Joe told the paper. ”There is a lot of excitement brewing at Clark Montessori for the Cougars.”

Berta took over for Steve Sheehan, who had been the coach since to program started in 2007.
