Senior Salute: DeVante Riley, Shroder

By Greg Shoemaker | Featured Analyst

It was a record setting year for Shroder, going a program best, 8-2. Right in the middle of it and leading the defense was DeVante Riley. The six-foot-one, 200 pound linebacker led a Jaguars defense that only gave up 10.6 points per contest and held five foes to negative rushing yards. The four-year starter finished the year with 108 total tackles, 6.5 sacks, forced five fumbles and had four fumble recoveries.

Riley is drawing interest from Boston College, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Kentucky and several MAC schools because of his play. The two-time, First Team All-CMAC performer had a stellar career with 15.5 sacks, nine fumble recoveries and three interceptions for head coach, Gerald Warmack.
